Last night, (Sunday, August 7th, 2011) the 13th annual Teen Choice Awards was held at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. Justin Bieber and his girlfriend, Selena Gomez were both nominated in several categories, and attended the event together.

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez share a kiss...and take home a few awards, at the Teen Choice Awards Show

This year the event was hosted by Kaley Cuoco, the stunning actress that plays Penny on the geeky comedy that’s hard not to love, “The Big Bang Theory ”.

Will.I.am from the Black Eyed Peas was the D.J. for the award ceremony, which is unique because the awards winners receive are much different from any other awards show, and cannot be quietly tucked underneath a seat like the golden trophies at most other award ceremonies. It’s a huge surfboard, that’s about as tall as some of the recipients. The event is also unique because it recognizes and celebrates the entertainment choices of teenagers across the nation, giving them their own voice in whats “hot” in entertainment this year.

What starlets and celebrities had seats and nominations for the award ceremony? Justin Bieber, of course (He was the 1st name mentioned, actually), Selena Gomez and her band, “The Scene“, Taylor Swift, Ashton Kutcher, The Situation, Kim and the other Kardashian sisters, Emma Stone and Ellen DeGeneres, but the Vampire Scene stole the show!Actors from several Vampire themed shows and series were on the list including Robert Pattinson (“Twilight”),Alexander Skarsgaard (“True Blood”) and Ian Somerhalder (“Vampire Diaries”).

The  Vampire-oriented films and TV shows dominated the ceremony.Everpopular with this age group,  “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” both received three to four awards. In that category, Robert Pattinson from “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” won the ultimate title for the whole vampire category, walking away with the surfboard all the actors and actresses from the shows and series from the Vampire craze had their eye on.

Moving on, because after all, we are a Justin Bieber fan site :) . Justin Bieber took the surfboard for 4 out of 5 nominations. His awards include “Choice Male Hottie”, “Choice Twit”, ‘Choice Male Artist” and “Choice T.V. Villian” (for his guest-starring role in hit prime-time television show, CSI). He had a humbling acceptance speech as well. The 17 year old announced to the crowd, and the viewers at home that : “Three years ago, I was chilling on a couch in Canada watching the Teen Choice Awards, and now I’m here, anything is possible if you set your mind to it.”

The power-couple, Justin and Selena left with a total of 9 awards between the both of them, with Selena taking the surfboard with 5 awards, including 1.”Female Hottie” (To match J.B.’s “Male Hottie!”), 2.”Choice TV actress” for her role in“Wizards of Waverly Place, 3.”Choice Music Group” for Selena Gomez and her band,The Scene, 4. “Choice Music Single”, “Who Says,”by Selena Gomez and The Scene, and finally 5.”Choice Music Love Song”, “Love You Like a Love Song,” Selena Gomez.

But the combined nine awards were not quite enough for the youngest power-couple in Hollywood! Justin Bieber planted a sweet smooch on his lovely girlfriend, Selena Gomez. The kiss turned out picture perfect and great enough for an award’s ceremony. Their love seems so unbreakable and unconditional, I think its something we all look for. The adorable pair also got cuddly and cozy backstage after Selena and her band, The Scene performed live.

Yes, the whole Vampire-Mania kinda took over the show, after all it is the TEEN choice awards, and the Vampire trend of movies and books is a huge one. But as far as music, looks and love go, Justin and Selena stole the show.

With the pair toting home a total of nine surfboards, and a perfect kiss, we agree the night went well for Justin, and he definitely looked like he was having a great time!
