While Justin Bieber has rocketed to fame in just two short years, he has quickly become known for more than his music. Bieber makes regular contributions to a number of charities and even donates proceeds from record sales to those in need. Here’s a look at some of Justin’s recent charitable work.

On November 8, 2011, Justin worked with the Make a Wish program in France to achieve their 4,000th completed wish. Justin met with three sick children at a hospital to give them surprise visits. The Make a Wish Foundation has been around since 1980, helping to bring joy to the lives of children who are facing life-threatening conditions. After his trip, Justin tweeted about the experience and called it an honor.

Justin also launched the Believe Charity Drive to benefit charities including: Pencils of Promise, City of Hope, Project Medishare for Haiti, Make-a-Wish Foundation, Musicians on Call, Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of America, Starship Foundation, the Grammy Foundation and Teenage Cancer Trust. These charities were all chosen because of their work in music, youth well-being and education. Anyone may donate to the drive and a portion from every purchase of Under the Mistletoe will go toward the Believe Charity Drive. The goal of the drive is to raise millions for charity, hopefully before the release of Justin’s Believe album becomes available in stores in 2012.

Justin Bieber also recently started a charity auction for his pet snake Johnson. The snake is to be auctioned off in December 2011 and the benefits will go toward Pencils of Promise. This charity builds schools in countries around the world and helps to train young people to be socially conscious. The winner of the auction will be screened to ensure the safety and welfare of the snake. The winner must agree to keep the snake in good health with quality food, water, sanitation and a clean habitat. Justin has worked a great deal to contribute to the Pencils of Promise charity, generating about $82,887 as of December 1, 2011.

On October 20, 2011, a food bank in Ontario received $15,000 thanks to Justin Bieber. Justin arranged for the donation to the House of Blessing food bank during an interview with Access Hollywood. The host of the show, Billy Bush, said he would donate $5,000 to the charity of Justin’s choosing if he asked his Twitter followers to follow Bush as well. Justin has approximately 13.8 million followers on the popular social networking site. Justin made a donation himself of $10,000 to the Stratford food bank only weeks prior. The food bank serves around 5,000 people each year in the small town where Justin lived. Justin tweeted after the appearance, “It wasnt 2 long ago that my mom and me got food from this food bank 4 our christmas. Dont ever forget where u come from.”

Also in October, Justin auctioned off a customized purple motorcycle he owned for charity. The motorcycle, a Campagna T-Rex, has two seats and three wheels and features Justin Bieber’s initials painted on the front hood. All proceeds from the auction will go to the pro skateboarder Rob Dyrdek’s foundation, which constructs skate parks around the country. The motorcycle had an estimated value of $50,000.

On November 17, Justin made an appearance in New York City and allowed fans to meet and greet the star by bidding for charity. Bidding to meet the star was available through October 13 with all proceeds going toward Pencils of Promise. The winning bidder got the chance to accompany the star along with three friends on the visit.

50 Cent is also in talks with the star and Lady Gaga to increase sales of his Street King energy drink. Profits from the sale of the drink will be donated to help end hunger in Africa. The drink has currently raised enough money to feed around 2.5 million children in Africa and the rapper sent a check to the UN to cover the cost in September.
